Sanitation

In rural Haiti, only one in five people have access to basic sanitation. Protecting the water supply from human contamination is critical to saving an already limited supply of clean water.

Our Haitian partners saw the need for improved sanitation in their communities where there is no electricity, running water, or public sewage system.

Haiti H2O has contributed to numerous projects to improve hygiene and water access, including:

  • relief efforts like water purification tablets and bucket filtration systems after natural disasters

  • composting toilets

  • digging wells

  • school bathrooms
