Stepping Away

I am grateful for the faithful support of so many for our work in Haiti over the years. It has been my life's passion to partner with the Haitian people ever since my first mission trip experience in 1991. I have never felt as sure that God holds us in His hands as I have while working with our friends and partners. My involvement in Haiti has been a family affair; Sarah and I began leading teams together and have included our family in the ministry. Though it has never been easy, it has always been worth every effort.

The last few years have been a new paradigm for Haiti H2O. Political instability and now the Covid-19 pandemic have restricted travel to Haiti. Haiti H2O has leaned into our partners, both Haitian and American, and the ministry has continued to flourish. We are currently fully funded for the Corn Grinder micro-business in Bassin Caiman and should have the walls and roof built for the school in Meloniere this fall. These projects (and many more!) are possible because of God’s grace, the vision and dedication in each community and the network of relationships that enable Haiti H2O to work alongside our friends.

It is with very mixed feelings that I have decided to step down from my position within Haiti H2O. At this time, I do not have the space or time to continue as a staff member. I am sad beyond words to end this chapter of direct involvement with all of my friends in Haiti. However, I have hope because Haiti H2O is a vibrant ministry focused on serving the poor in rural Haiti with many dedicated and talented people involved.  

It is with absolute confidence in Haiti H2O that I am stepping down from the organization and joining you who have been supporting Haiti H2O for years. I pray that you will stay involved with this great organization and I am excited to support the ministry to continue “transforming hope into opportunities in rural Haiti”.
