Blok Sanitaire

There has been a need for better bathrooms in St. Martin for many years. Pastor Prevener, the new pastor in this village, started the ball rolling on this project after he arrived. Once supplies were able to be purchased, the building of the Blok Sanitaire has moved quickly.

With 10 toilets and several hand-washing stations, this addition will improve sanitation for the school children, even slowing the potential spread of cholera.

We are grateful to our Haitian staff for coordinating with the leaders in St. Martin, purchasing supplies, as well as hiring a structural engineer for the design. Pastor Prevener found a local “boss” (contractor) to lead the building effort and hire labor for the project.
