About Us

Purpose:

In response to the love of Jesus, Haiti H2O works with rural Haitian communities, cultivating hope and opportunities.

Core Values:

The Gospel has transformative power.
Partnerships, friendships and communities are keys to lasting change.
We are committed to programs that are sustainable.

History:

Haiti H2O began in 2006 as a partner ministry with Luther and Carol Hansley for the work being done in the Haitian villages of Basin Camin and St. Martain. The focus was primarily on securing funding to help develop sustainable business projects in these villages, like a bread oven and community farming projects. The ministry focus transitioned in 2007 when the Hansleys ended their time of mission work in Haiti. We are now doing the work of partnering churches in Haiti with churches in the United States by leading short-term mission trips. In November 2007, we received our final 501(c)3 approval from the IRS.

Board of Directors:

Doug Bradbury led many trips to Haiti as a campus minister at Messiah College. He is now on the faculty of Geneva College as a Youth Ministry Professor.

Amy Cumer first led a trip to Haiti when she was serving as a campus minister at Bethany College. She is now the Program Coordinator of Student Ministries at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church.

Gary Schulz has been a partner on many of our trips; his expertise in construction is invaluable. He owns and operates Schulz Construction and serves in the greater Pittsburgh area.

Sarah VanderMolen first traveled to Haiti in 1992 and has since led many teams to Haiti with her husband, Jeff. Sarah serves as Director of Haiti H2O.
